In April of 2021, I traveled commercially with my CFI to Seattle, Washington (KSEA) to pick up Dorothy, sight unseen. She was living at Auburn Muni (S50) where she flew only around 10 hours a year for the past 20 years. After doing some due diligence such as a pre-purchase inspection and having an in-depth conversation with the A&P who had been working on her for over 10 years, it was time to complete the purchase.

That day, it was warmer in Seattle than it was in Southern California! By the way, the sellers told me to keep that a secret. But honestly, I was so focused on my new purchase, it didn’t matter what the weather was other than it being VFR so we could start heading home.
After we did our inspection, test flight, closed the deal and said our good-byes, we were on our way to bring her home…
