So today we received a few photos of the progress and I couldn’t be more excited. The anticipation is growing day by day. And today, we got to see the battery connected and the avionics powered on.

The Garmin 530W was purchased used back in November and here it is June. We’ve never powered it on until today. I have to admit, I was quite nervous that we’d be DOA. But, I kept the faith and was relieved to see this photo.
The battery box is installed now forward of the firewall.

On the other side of the firewall, the cover has been reinstalled. This is great news. It means that the panel work is wrapping up and they no longer need that access.

We are now in the home stretch. We believe we are under two weeks away from being airborne once again. When the windscreen finally gets installed we’ll know then that we are rounding third base and headed for home. For now, we’ll take today’s wins ’cause we gotta get going if we want to get to Oshkosh. We’re planning to fly formation with B2Osh and you need a Bonanza for that!
